    I can get you the number of the flywheel I used,...

    I can get you the number of the flywheel I used, it's in my garage. I used the bellhousing that was behind the 283 that the 400 replaced and changed the snout on the starter since the starter bolts...

    I wasn't aware that GM put a standard tranny...

    I wasn't aware that GM put a standard tranny behind a 400 so when I dropped a 400 into a 62 pickup I found a 454 flywheel and never had a problem.
