yep there is many ways to go and all have been done i would start with a hyd roller cam the block is set up for that. go with a vtech head and cam would have to do with RPM range and every thing...

but the block should be drilled in front of the block for cam trust plate and towers for spider ???????????/

yep it should be but they never used a roller cam it was flat lifter hyd in the trucks.i done some:D

what numbers ?if you use the TBI you have to run a small cam need to idle low for the computer to work K code.if you going carb there is many cams to pick thru the heads are the PBM heads for the 87...

just rebuilt one bored it 030 over deck it used a small custom hyd roller cam and used the PBM heads on it it went back to TBI for a stock gm truck
