Hey guys not sure where my build belongs it's kinda a rat rod kinda a hotrod.
I'll let you guys be the judge!
So I started with a 1938 cadillac 4 door had a flat head and 3 on the tree ! Car was bone stock only 36k org documented miles.i bought it from org owner family. This car was basically rust free with exception of a dime sized spot on fire wall by body mount!
So the goal was cheap build as I was already building a dodge charger but was getting board of a nut and bolt resto!
So I started on this with an idea in my head I had someone do a photo chop to get an idea of out come! So main goal was chop top 3" make car into a 2 door from a 4 door put on air ride get a more modern driveline and brakes. And to make the car dark, creepy ,
The idea was if the devil had a car what would he drive!
So I came you with the design the cars name is Sinner.
I've been working on this awhile now I couldn't find a site to share on as apparently rat rod is a bad word now !
So as you can see in pictures I started with a nice body I cut roof off cut 3 " out of roof four roof was now to short so I had to shorten the body by 3" to get roof back in place! Then I started on getting rid of two extra doors I cut 10" out of rear door added 7 of those " to the front door and other 3 was to shorten body ! I then moved the b pillar back 7" to accommodate new front doors !
I also started installing the suicide door kits ! All this got done on drivers side so far . I took a break for awhile to tend to new born!
After some time I finally got back on project I decided to get the frame done before doing anything else . So I found bought a Chevy 305 out of a 85 trans am rebuilt it . Was looking for a full frame to swap under car not much has come up found a 79 el co for free grabbed it and got frame but after further review not going to fly!
So I said I'll cut the front and rear section off and weld onto the cadillac frame well rear lined up perfect front was way off! So I decided to look for something else decided on a 79 Camaro sub frame! Got one for $200
So started cutting and welding got the frames all spliced together ! Went to clean up the rear from the el co well it's trashed inside! Got two choices rebuild or find another well rebuild seemed expensive so I got to looking I found a rear for $200 that was rebuilt. Only issue was it wasn't what he said it was it was for a 1970 chevelle well this is an issue and not the el co rear was a tad narrow the new rear put wheels back in stock location.
Yada yada cleaned /frame up undercoated it installed rear and front susp got air ride installed on rear got body out of shed and reinstalled. I am now getting a few bugs worked out like clearance issues here and there. This is where I'm at now I don't like the rear bag placement now so I'm changing that .
I'm working on pictures
