web sites for frame specs

I have a 36 Ford tudor sedan that I would like to place on a modern frame. When I try to search for frames specs/chassis specs I get everything under the sun but what I am looking for. Anyone out there know of a good site to go to so I can see if a frame of a certain year car/truck will work with my Ford. I have a buddy that works at a scrap yard and can get me anything for free. My goal is to find a chassis with at least the right wheel width. They can shorten the frame for me if necessary. Not interested in putting a MustangII front end and all that. Just looking for a suitable/workable frame but I do not have a site to go to to find the necessary specs and dimensions.

These guys are pretty good. I bought a universal X member kit for my car and was very happy. professional welder said he couldn't have built me one from scratch for that. They are very helpful to call too

Thank you for the reply. The site you posted will not really help me with my current situation. I need to find a site that can give me chassis dimensions and specs for whatever year I am searching for. I just want to get the body on another chassis for now. Thanks Buddy!

I've never really understood the attraction to changing to a later model frame; they are totally different. The frame in your car could be a good candidate for a Mustang II or even the stock axles can be made to handle and drive fairly well.

Another thing that frightens me about frame swaps, you are really pushing the limits of being illegally registered if you are running the old title. I've seen a couple of cars that were impounded by the state patrol for similar activity.

isn't the wheelbase more critical?for a frame swap? there is a "definitive list of frame swaps" thread on the hamb
