Dan, I really like what you did with the tail light modification. I'm assuming you used a stock 54 chevy lense and modified the studebaker surround.

      Dean,

Yeah, I bought the plastic lenses a lot of years ago from http://www.thenightprowlers.com/. I then built a wooden buck to fit the inside shape of the lens from which I make buckets for the lights (top and bottom each lens as opposed to the single bulb that Studebaker gave me as original equipment). I then used the buck as a pattern to shape the the surround.

I told Big Kahuna that I'd do an article complete with photos for the Stude site. I'll start on that when the weather gets too cold for me to be outside. But...hopefully I'll be getting a new shop built here at home to play in... we'll see. I did commit to the article though.

From your pictures it looks like you build cars professionally. Is that true? I really like yours! I can remember when the Silver Hawk first came out when I was a kid. I just stared at it with my mouth open!

I just noticed that you're from Littleton, CO. I know exactly where that is! My company transferred me to Pittsburgh from Idaho Falls, Idaho, so I'm a westerner as well.

      Best Regards!

      Dan

Ya know, the cops will give you a ticket for parking 'left wheel to curb'.Jokes aside, it's a great looking car.The frenched tail lights look great.

Always good to see another bulletnose fan.
She's obviously a driver, are you going to do anything else with her ?
Have you checked out my site and my '50 Studebaker Retro-Rod Project yet ? Also lots of photos of Studebaker Streetrods, Dragsters & Trucks to view.
