Here's an idea; go to an automotive parts house.
Or, a salvage yard if you don't want to spend the money for new.
Ford didn't make a rack and pinion for the 51 Chevy. What are you smoking?
I have a non-power rack out of a 78 Mercury Zepher, if that will suit your needs. $100 + shipping. I'm in Canada, near Toronto.
Well Hab, It is Funny our '49 had one. I am not sure which ford year it was though. It is for my father-in-law, so let me get the specifics.Quote:

That kit is for a Pinto or Mustang II front suspension. You'll need every part that you can unbolt from the front end of one of these cars. The rack and pinion, upper a-frames, lower control arms, springs, spindles, ball joints, shocks, rotors, wheel bearings etc. If you can't find a complete car to strip it can get very expensive buying the parts seperatley. These cars used 4 lug wheels but you can buy rotors that have the Chevy bolt pattern.
Thanks Al Show,
Since it is for my Father-in-law I really didnt know the specifics. But i didnt know it was a mustang II front end. Does it matter what year you think? Cause i know a guy where i live who has a yard full of mustangs, and that's it.
Thank you,
Josh
The link you posted says 74 to 78 Mustang or 74 to 80 Pinto/Bobcat. Maybe some other company makes them for other years of Mustangs I don't know.
