I'm redoing two 1996 Oldsmobile Cutlass bucket seats for use in my 1940 Ford Coupe and am looking for a source to supply replacement seat foam. No luck so far using Google.

I don't know that you'll find pre-formed foam for your seats, but you can get sheet foam in different thickness & density from a supply house and trim it to shape with an electric knife, then contour with an angle grinder & rough sanding disk. You can also repair original foam that's split or torn with spray adhesive, cotton stuffing and duct tape. Scroll down to the bottom of this page of "How To" instructions for some ideas. This is how I fixed my driver's seat foam, to prepare for installation of new covers - http://www.mrmikes.com/fieroinstall.htm
You might try calling these guys at Parts Unlimited Interiors - http://www.puiinteriors.com/index.ph...ucts/seat-foam They say that they can source new foam for just about any seat needed.Last edited by rspears; 07-03-2013 at 05:04 AM. Roger

By the way, trim items from the manufacturer are only available for a current model....as soon as the production ends, the soft goods are usually gone....from the car mfgr. IF he is looking for specific foam for a cutlass, his only chance is a chevelle foam....not enough volume in the aftermarket to sell cutlass trim.

.....which is why you see on the PUI site the foam is listed by "GM A-Body", "GM B-Body", etc in the various years. Nothing listed for '96, but they say they have sources for just about anything needed. If I were looking I'd start there, or a good independent local shop that might help.Roger
