Vintage sheetmetal?

I have been looking for sheetmetal for my 1941 Plymouth Special Deluxe 4 door, I really need a floor. Does anyone know where I can find sheetmetal for this car? I am having a difficult time finding anything for this vehicle.

Most of us make our own when we can't locate what we want. I wouldn't think 41 Plymouth would be in high demand. Its realy not that hard to make your own.

i just made my own for my 41. Used the trans tunnel from a 79 impala. Is yours original?

Welcome JK, like Charlie and Choppedchevy said a lot of guys end up making their own. One member here (falconvan) has built the floors for both is 48 and 49 Plymouths and has some pretty good pictures in his build threads to give you an idea about what you're getting into.

I’ve done a few floors; replacing them with good used original parts, with aftermarket reproductions, and from scratch. My experience has been the easiest was using floors from a donor. The hardest was using aftermarket replacement pans. At least for me, while the pans were close to fitting, by the time you trimmed, fitted and tweaked them till they were right, it would have been easier and less time consuming to build them from scratch. Looking at the big hole where the floor used to be can be kind of intimidating but if you work it a section at a time you’ll be amazed how quickly it goes.

On a side note, is the Moline you list in your location Moline IL? There used to be an old Junk Yard on Route 67 just south of the Quad cities (on the west side of the road up on a hill) it’s been several years since I went there but he used to have some old iron. By the way I’ll be up in that area in a couple of weeks….I’m planning on making a couple of the cruises the last weekend of the month.

This started out as a project about 20 years ago when my dad bought it for me and it would be my first car and the two of us would build it together. By the time I was old enought to really understand what was going on we knew we might be in a little over our heads so the project was put on the back burner and we moved on to a simpler project car. I am in the middle of a build right now but have always kept this car in the back of my mind and now am ready to build it once I sell the current project.

choppedchevy- So far the only part of the car that is not original is the rear end (out of an eary 70's Nova) and the front frame rails (I think it was the same Nova).

Mike P- Yes I am from Moline, IL. I will have to look for the yard mentioned in your reply. I'm going to look at the links you provided and probably take a stab at making my own. I do also have another 41 that is complete I would just need to remove what was left of the charred interior to see what I need to make.
