fuel tank 1965 LTD 4 door hdtp

I need a fuel tank for a 1965 LTD 4 door hardtop please

I looked at a bunch of sites that sell tanks and none seem to have one for that application, they kind of skip over that year and model. I might have missed one though. You might have to have yours tanked and sloshed to seal it, or find another good used one and have that done. I'm not sure if the sloshing compounds still hold up to the new gasolines though, I know it eats everything else in sight. :CRY:

I found a good used tank for my 84 Ford Crown Vic one time, so you might be able to score one from out west or similar, or maybe adapt one from a similar car.

Compare size and nozzle location, some years and models use the same....

oops! My bad. That one only says '67. Not sure how they're different. I would think 65 & 66 would be about the same. You might check with the Galaxie Club of America. They would know the difference and probably know where to get one.

There is evidently something unique about that 65 tank because on all the sites I looked at they jump right over it and have them for other years. I think the best bet is to just find a used tank in reasonable condition and have it hot tanked and sloshed. Not sure if they still line tanks that way as the new gasolines eat up everything in sight. :(

As Kurt suggested, hit up some of the wrecking yards in the West as they will be in better condition than those from the rust belt.

66 to 68 tank should work if you get the straps that go with them,65 was 20 gallon and 66 to 68s are 24 or 25 gallon tanks

i have a friend with a plethora of galaxies, borrowed an old tank pf his, 66 fits perfect, he even had the straps I will buy a new tank, as his has holes also.
