Looking for used street avenger carb for a real good deal. Email me if you've got something. Thanks.
those carbs are relatively new. been out baout a year and a half. Good luck finding one. All the ones I have sold, every one has been really happy and would not let go for anything.
I know they are relatively new. But a lot of people change their carbs. Anyway, to answer your question yes, I can rebuild a quadrajet I have rebuilt more carbs than a lot of people have ever seen and have recently rebuilt the 650CFM q-jet that is currently on my ride. However, it's a little difficult to run the divorced choke carb I have with a Performer manifold. No sense buying another q-jet just to replace the one I already have, that I am dis-satisfied with.
I love my Qjet on my pontiac. It will start right up whe it's 20 degrees or colder outside. I originally pout mine on for gas milage.
I am very happy with mine, I get decent milage and my truck starts every time with just a few seconds (I can get it to start more quickly by turning the mixture screws a quarter of a turn but I like to give the oil time to start circulating) of cranking on the coldest of days. And, it flows 750 cfm, not 650. There are only 2 qjet sizes I am aware of and they are 750 and 850 cfm.
You are correct with the 750CFM. I was thinking about a carb I was looking at on ebay when I wrote that. Eitherway, with a performer manifold for a 455 olds. there is no way to run the one I have with the divorced choke. In any event It's not giving me what I need/want, and I want to upgrade. Don't really care who disagrees since it's my ride. If anybody has the 770 Holley that I posted about that they want to move, get ahold of me.
the Holley pt # for the Street avenger you are looking for is an 0-80770. good luck!
you could always just full on balls out and buy a fuel injection system from edelbrock, they work awesomely and you can easily modify it for high performance, gas mileage, or somewhere in between... they are a lil pricey tho... about $2000
