I have an 8" in my 32 roadster with "the usual street rod" 350 engine, and 350 (non O/D) transmission. The rear tires are 30" tall. It has an open diff with a stock 2.78 gear. I'm getting ready to tear the car completely apart for paint and really want to upgrade the differential to a limited slip with a 3.55 or 3.80 gear for a little more guts off the line. Just can't decide which one would be the better all around choice.

But, as the price of gas continues to raise my "Bonneville Gear" is looking better, LOL.
