We need the rear bumper and bracket.

Hank, you need to check out the Pomona Swap Meet for vintage VW parts. Lots of VW guys from BC come down for this meet and other VW events in Southern California. You need to hook with them, and place your order.

California does seem like the place where all the vw action is .
I'd like to take in the Pomona meet someday.

Pat I've already placed my want ad at both places and a few others

I know over the years how many times I've pulled VW motors out and that bumper is just in the way and never gets put back on. There might be one sitting in a pile behind a shop somewhere.
