Pappy, what's the width of the tread on the Henry J. I have not been close to one in years. That would narrow down the straight axle a bit.
I've got one out of a '58 chebbie half ton pickup, with springs, steering box, steering shaft, etc. 6 bolt wheels. Price is cheap,. but the freight would kill ya!!!!!
Speedway has them
There have been some posts on other forums about Speedways straight axle components not all mating. One member installed a gasser type two spring model on a customers car, and had some fits getting the brakes and all to mesh.
I think there may be more to the stories than meets the eye, because Speedway generally has this stuff pretty well thought out. Only mentioning it so you have a heads up.
Don
I've been seeing good and bad about Speedway. Money's tight so I was looking for something used. Don't know if that's a good idea or not.
If you can find one out of an old Econoline, Dodge or Chevy van from the mid-60's, they can be narrowed to whatever width you need. The axle beams are forged steel, not cast iron, so they can be welded safely.
Thanks I guess I'll start lookingQuote:

Dave, Any idea what the shipping would be? zip 17545
I'm sure because of the size and weight it would have to go on a pallet---don't know, but I'd guess with today's surcharges on shipping probably around $150 or so??????
