Does anyone have a source for aluminum carb spacers for the small Rochester 2 barrels. I want to get mine in the air an extra inch so I can have them face forward to make it less hassle to adjust the center carb idle circuit and not have the front one setting on a plug wire.
I have spent several hours yesterday and today on line searching and all I can find are phonolics sold at a very dear price by round track race suppliers.:CRY: :CRY: :eek:

Someone does carry them Duane, I saw them and was interested because I have three of the small based ones on my Olds in the '39 Dodge. But, I can't remember who. :o Maybe Vintage Speed?

It is two inch, but I think it is the only one available. BTW, there have been many reports that Vintage Speed is not the fastest shipper in the world, they run hot and cold. I buy stuff from Charlie at shows, and that way I get it in my hot little hands and know I have it.

Two inches will give me lots of clearance on the 390's distributor.:) :) And the Effes hood had plenty of carb clearance room. This should be perfect.
Denny, if I am reading the base bolt pattern correctly those are for the larger based Rochesters 2barrels used on the 389 ponchos, 327 chevys and 394 olds two barrel engines.
Don, I ordered 3 of the spacers, 3 base gaskets, and one carb gasket set ( I know my center carb needs new gaskets cause I've had it apart so many times:LOL: )from Charlie. We'll see how long it takes to get them.:)
What did they say on the phone? Any indication of if they were in stock or anything?

Oops, used the internet to order. Didn't think to call and ask if they were in stock. Oh, well. They get here when they get here I guess. I get a little leery about ordering on the phone cause people have a hard time understanding my electronic voice, especially when I am spelling my last name. Hehehe
They aren't always bad on shipping, just sometimes. I think he is basically an ok guy, but spreads himself thin and overpromises. It also revolves around if he is at a show or not during the time you order.
He really has some unique stuff that nobody else carries, and that kinda puts you in a fix if you want that particular item. I think you will be ok.
