after market firewall
I need to build or BUY an aftermarket firewall for my 56 stude wagon. I put a LS1 in it and it is recested 5". I know no one makes one for this but is there a aftermaket company that offers some sort of universal panel that I can fit to mine???Thanks

I think you are on your own on this one. Companies usually only offer parts like this for the most common applications. Wouldn't be a problem to form one out of flat sheet metal stock.

Start with a wheelbarrow from the hardware. Cut the recess out of it and build the rest from 20 gauge flat sheet.

I really only need the recessed area and about 4" all around. I was thinking of buying a ford or chev for a 50's model and just cutting the recess and using it. Although I do think the wheel barrow idea is doable

the round headed wheel barrow has been used as a firewall for many years by hotrodders. originally I think it was used for was model A's, they fit in almost perfect in the late body A cowls.

If you go to Home Depot or similar, look at different wheelbarrows. There are a few different shapes to them. We were just looking at some a few weeks ago because my kid may go that route on his '29.

If I were you I would call Bitchin in Arizona and see if they make one for your application. I know they make one piece firewalls and they also make 2 or 3 piece firewalls that you have to weld together. I have one of their high quality 1 piece firewalls to give me more room to shoe horn in a big block chevy in my model A and their floor board kits are really nice too.
