....no there is no punkin, BUT you can just change the internals. I did this in my '84 Camaro. Now it takes some skill to set it up so you might want to have an expert do it. Instead of taking out a punkin & then replacing the internals in the punkin, you just change the internals in the housing while it's in the car....Or, better yet, ask on here r/e; 1. What tools you need 2. Are there instructions on how to do it..... I had it done by a shop. Although years ago I did change the internals in a '59 Plymouth and did nothing as far as set up & it worked just fine. But I'm sure I just got lucky.......
