52 Ford pick ups come with 2 sets of hood hinges. One set at the cowl sides, (I have those). and one set from the firewall with springs, (that's the set I need). Does anyone know where I can get a pair. I've even considered using a pair from a different truck and beefing up the hood supports. Anyone got any ideas?

I've tried E-Bay, either I get out bidded or I receive junk. Both the wife and I have had bad results with E-Bay. I will try your links, Most of the links I've tried have them for 53 F-100 and up. That's why I asked about a pair from a donor truck/car.
Well....Here's an udate. I spent a whole day on the net, only to find hinges for a 53 and up. I did find one site that had them for 48-52 at $78 EACH and the springs were extra at $24 EACH....$252 plus shipping for two hood hinges??? I looked on E-Bay. Sure enough, there was a complete set of all four hinges with springs. I won the bid, and they're on the way here. $26.75.

I have most of those catalogs, or web addresses and have checked them out. What you probably don't realize is that Ford has restoration parts for model T, A, B, all the way up to 1940. Then it picks up again from 1953 up (F-100 series). For some reason the poor F-1 series (1948-1952) got left out. Restoration parts are far and few. Sure, LMC has some parts, but I always end up needing a part that no one has. But, I did manage to get my hinges from E-Bay at a great price.
I figured LMC truck or Blue Oval would be your best bet. Blue Oval is running 15% off right now. I'm glad to hear you got them though. I feel your pain with not being able to find parts.. I have an F-250, and although the cab is the same as the F100, the bed is impossible to find.. And the bed is the only thing I need.. I think I've lost hair during this project :CRY:
In my opinion, the 51-52 is the nicest looking, then the 55, then the 56, then the 53, then the 48-50, then the 54 :D

Actually I just went to your site.. a total frame off! You've probably lost more hair than me haha.. Mines a rolling restoration.
There is another forum just for 48-60 Fords that is pretty helpful at www.ford-trucks.com go to forum and then 48-60.. lot of good guys (and gals) on there too.
If your talking about the Ford Truck Enthusiast website, forget it...I'm banned from posting on that site. I have a Chevy engine in my Ford and it's on a Chevy S-10 frame. My wife is a die-hard Ford gal and she won't even go to that website. That's why I hang out here in CHR. If I can't get an answer here about a Ford problem, then I go to BonusBuilt.
No, I didn't loose any hair. It was a total frame up build, but it was easier than I figured. Frame, engine, trans, driveshaft and rear end were all bolt ons. The rear of the cab frame opening had to be widened a couple of inches, but rests on the frame like it was meant to be there. The front cab mounts align right over the center of the frame, and the same for the rear mounts. I just had to use the cab mounting holes as a guide and drill through the frame, used one inch hard rubber shock pads, and bolted it all down.
We didn't even have an engine hoist. We used a come-along suspended from a tree limb for both the engine and the body. The hard parts are going to be the interior, what to do with that damned dashboard, fabricating a new transmission hump, and fabricating a frame to mount the battery away from the manifold.
