I have an original one from my 48 Chevy. What I suggest is get one made. I found a place near me that looked to be some total piece of junk run down place on a hill in the middle of nowhere and they did REALLY good and made custom radiators and everything for real cheap. I got my big radiator 3 core for 160 bucks for my 302. Try looking for a place like this.
That sounds like the way to go but there isn't anybody here in our little town that is willing to take on a job like that. They just want to sell me a $450.00 to $750.00 dollar radiator. They seem to think that if I can afford to build a street rod then money is no object. I can order a new one anywhere but with winter coming bricklayers always have to tighten our belts. How good of shape is that stock one you have FMXhellraiser, I have two friends in our club with 48's running stock radiators with sbc engines with no problems.
brickman, I will have to go look under the house tomarrow. I have it under the house sitting with all my other car parts. Only thing I need from it are the demensions and all. If it's in good shape then we can see what kind of deal we can work out. I don't remember it being in bad shape but I'll have to look. Tomarrow post another post on here again so I can see the reply in my email and it will remind me because I have a ton of stuff going on today, tonight and tomarrow. Just need a reminder that's all.
Oh and if it's in bad shape then what I can do is get you that guys number (he is about an hour from me) and you can ask him about it and what I can do for you is bring my original down there, let him use the measurments, make it and have it shipped to you. If it's a good deal that he can do it for then I am sure it will be worth it.
Aluminum radiators are another option, some have prices starting under $200.00. My NAPA guy got me one for my pickup, $167.00.......
That would be great FMXhellraiser, deminsions are 20 x 20 for the core, overal is 24 high x 22 1/2 bolt center to bolt center wide. I have pic's of it if you need them.
Dave, that sounds like a great price for an aluminum radiator, I will check a napa website tonight and see if I can get anywhere.
Thanks alot guys, very appreciated.

Sent you a PM Brickman!
Brickman,
Several years ago we blew the top tank out of the radiator in our 36 Chev pickup. I replaced it with a radiator from a 84 Ford. The replacement was a cross-flow four row radiator from Performance Radiator. I just turned the radiator on is't side and made new mounts. I got their radiator spec book and looked through all of the radiators until I found one that had similar overal dimensions. The cost was less than $150, new.
The new radiator cools better than ever before. In 100 degree eastern Washington temperatures sitting in the truck at a light, the temperature will rise. Take the trans out of gear and hit the trottle and the temperature will drop back to normal.
