Selling for an estate. This engine was installed in a Toyota Land Cruiser in 1968 in San Jose, CA. Do not know where the owner got the engine or who did the assembly. I removed the engine from the L.C. in 2006, before I removed it, I ran it for a few minutes. The engine has been stored indoors since removal. The L.C. had been stored for at least 14 years before I removed the engine (but it was started periodically). THIS ENGINE IS USED CONDITION and needs a serious refresh.

The SHORT BLOCK is a HT code which is a 350HP 327 Corvette. The date cast code is D2165 which is April 21, 1965. The block appears to be 030 over with L2165 pistons. We can see the piston number and the 030 by looking thru the plug holes. This engine has not been disassembled since 1968. Engine has road draft tube (stock for the 1965 date). Has the small press on damper.

The heads are double hump 3782461 castings. Both have a date code of E204 which is May 20, 1964 meaning that this is not a matching block/head combo since the heads were cast 11 months before the block was. Do not know if these are X heads since heads are still on engine.

Distributor is a1111169 which is listed as a 325 or 350 hp 396. Date code is 8F12 which is June 12, 1068.

Oil pan appears to be longer sump Corvette pan.

Valve covers are the Corvette script aluminum, part number 3767493 with "Lester" cast on the inside. Covers are very clean and were in a separate box when we got Land Cruiser.

Engine has an older Edelbrock Torquer manifold and a Holley carb. Carb is not an L-79 carb since it has dual metering blocks (not plates). Also includes ram's horn manifolds which may be Corvette (havent found the correct casting numbers yet).

Asking $1250 for all includes crating. Pictures available upon request...tell me what you want a pic of. Engine is located in Tucson, Arizona Territory
