Can Am Boss 494 Ford Block

I have a Can Am 494 block listed on Hemmings with one picture. For those interested in obtaining the block other pictures are available. If you know someone looking for such a block, direct them to the Hemmings ad.

The blocks were produced by Ford and sent to Holman & Moody for buildup. Holman & Moody numbered the blocks and after machining added the block number to each main cap. These blocks were made using a new casting, not the original Boss 429. The 494 block was slightly larger with thicker internal dimensions to strenghten the Aluminum block. The cylinders utilized special iron cylinder liners. The Can Am 494 engines were completed using Nascar Boss 429 parts that were interchangeable.
