tiger stripes in paint

i've had a problem in the past with tiger stipes in my paint. (acrylic lacquer). They've wet sanded out in the past. any idea what causes these??? (too little thinner??? too much thinner???)

Many things cause it , air pressure, fan adjustment, material adjustment, going to slow or fast with the paint gun.
I will give you some help on how to solve the tiger
stripe problem, Lacquer is suppose to be thinned up to 150% , then with each coat cross hatch the pattern, go one way once, then cross ways the next this should help.

Another thing is if your fluid tip , needle, and air cap can be wore out, as this can be a problem too.

I've seen this car racing for serveral years now. He still has a problem with Tiger stripes. Maybe there is no easy cure.

It comes from cheap guns and inexprienced painters. It can come from a spray gun not cleaned good. For an experience painter this is where it will come from. Pro painter use guns that cost from $300 and up. Cheaper paints will also give a problem

Spray's right on the money....also you should be overlapping @ 75% with laquer. You may be dry spraying if you don't & the met. will fall off, giving you "stripes"
I assume that your having problems with met. paint?
