Kustom shop paints

Has anyone used the Kustom shops Flatz system. They have some nice metallic colors. I'd like to go with the hotrod flat look on my 51 Dodge, but I don't want the black. Everybody has done that. Anyone have opinions?

I have used a lot of their DTM epoxy primer and love it. I have been informed by Shine of SPI products that are suppose to be better so my next order will be with them. I have not used any of Kustom shop flats but what products I have used from them I do like.

Thanks, I'm going to order their epoxy and urethane primers. I think I'll go with the met flatz color when I paint.

I assume you know that by using a flat clear you can use any color of regular basecoat you want. That way you would have a greater choice of colors.

i dont work for spi . i just use their products. as for kustom shop never used them. if you want a flat then use a flattening agent.

Had a customer about 2 years ago insistied on using that JUNK.
Told him I'd put it in the gun, squirt it with no guarntee.
He came by the next day after it was shot, and saw the mess.
Told him to take it home, prep it again and I'd shoot a base and SPI matte clear but would charge him for the 2nd squirt also.
He had over 4 days of reprepping, plus my time and materials.
Admtted he bought the flatz because it was cheap.
He wasted over $800 in materials, plus the 4 days labor. Said he shoulda listened 2 me and saved a lotta $'S and grief.
But what do I know, I've only been painting for 45 years?

Thanks, now that is what I wanted to know. I couldn't find anyone that had used it. I think I'll stay away from their primers then. I'll ck and see what napa has got.
