Whats the right type filter for painting epoxy paints or any auto type paint ?

I have a full face MSA mask and have a few type "H" filters for it. The label says its good for dust fumes and mist including asbestos dust and mist. Says it gives no protection from gases or vapors. Are these filters suitable for painting ?

Nope. you want the ones for organic vapors and a particulate filter to keep the overspray out. Here's a selection guide based on the exact compounds in the paint, if you know what they are...

Update to filters. The filters I have are P100 filters the "H" was for another designation. I have read more than I care too on this subject to the point I'm now confused, I'll just use house paint and a brush ! only kidding, but its too much info between NIOSH and OSHA, MSDS charts and than the makers of filters ect.

Sounds like you've done too much reading!!!! If you're doing business with a reputable paint store, just get the filters they recommend for the paint you're using. For a one time paint deal, just using a quality mask with the correct filters will do fine.. The gov't writes all their crap for a guy who spends 8 hours a day in the booth, not a one time use deal. Heck, I still use the 3M disposable masks for the little bit I paint and I'm still alive with good lungs.

you can not smell iso's so a mask is a gamble . beard ? your screwed . i use bullard disposable hoods. cheap and safe .
