1962 Ford Galaxie 406 Valve Cover Color Code

I am restoring a 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 with the 406 engine. Can anyone give me the correct paint code for the gold valve covers? I have seen a lot of cars that have been restored and painted, but the color is not correct. Help is appreciated!

I have a pair that came off a 63 at the dealer for a pair of chrome ones. They still have the silver cork gaskets on them. If you can't get the paint code I can meet you at a Napa and color match the paint. Email me and I will send you a picture. It is not the gold that is sold as correct by some of these places

This is a somewhat confusing topic. Seems there were 2 gold colors used. First was Castillion Gold (which is also a body paint color) which has sort of a greenish silver tint to the gold. The other gold was more of a pure gold color I'm not sure the name was. Dearborn Classics sells the darker gold as original part # PA100D. It's a Plasticoat brand and marked Universal Gold #223 on the top. You can finds this at most auto parts places I'd think. I don't know the rhyme or reason for the 2 different shades but would guess it's a "we have it, we'll use it" type of deal. There is also a Ditzler paint code of 21903 but I don't know which gold color it is. So a bit more research is involved.

I have seen both colors but mine - and I bought it new, had chrome covers as well as a chrome fuel filter instead of the usual black.
