Pre paint cleaning of sheet metal
What is the best way to remove oil from sheet metal prior to painting...

I would use silicone-wax & grease remover, which is a widely used product in paint and body work. You will also need to use either a metal prep, before priming, or use a "self-etching primer". This will prevent any rust from forming under the paint.
