Im trying to decide which would be better to do some winter projects, an
Airbush or a Paint gun.What I want to do with it is Touch up the motor
where heat has discolured the block, and repaint some tail light bezels on
my 65 goat, other than that nothing too big. Plus ive looked at e-bay and
theres dozens out there to choose from.
Think I'd be using a smaller touch up gun, an air brush would take forever, and a regular sized paint gun would be way too big.....
I do like my full size Iwata and understand that the touch up guns are just as good:

I do disagree with Dave S (again, sorry Dave). A full size gun will allow you to change pattern size from about an inch to the full 8-10 inch spread and will allow you to do more projects while the touch up gun limits your usage.

If you are only doing a few areas that aren't particularly visible, you can also purchase a Preval or two which is actually like a rattle can in that they give you a bottle for your paint which you screw it on to a precharged cannister and spray up to 16 ounces of fluid. These are about 5 bucks each.
Well I do have an extra long xmas stocking, maybe i`ll ask for both
I painted a transmission with an airbrush once, never again! took forever.

My airbrush with the big tip puts out quite a bit of paint. I have used it for touch ups, and it worked quite well. I agree that the smaller tips would take forever, but with the big tip, you have a lot more control and do not have to mask off as much.
I did a Total Performance T bucket frame with Imron once with my Binks air brush - and I sure didn't enjoy that experience regardless of the fact it turned out well.Quote:

Well when you tie it to 2 bumpers it stretches quite well
