The rust ol eum has a dry time of about 30 days un thinned:LOL:
I sprayed it on and it took atleast a month before I could sand.....
The thinning takes that to about 48 hrs dry time.

Just regular automotive enamel is less then $100.00 a gallon.....How much cheaper should paint be???? Buy a gun and do it right....Geez
Spray painting isn't always an option, or at least a reasonably priced one for everyone. The boatyard where the 34 footer was located does not allow owners or outside contractors to spray, the quote from the yard was around $15,000 to do the job. It took me a month of weekends and nights to do and the cost was around $500.
The quality of a finished LP paint job, even rolled on, is well above what the typical $100 paint provides in the hands of an amateur painter. The LPs are virtually indestructable and hold up nearly as well as a good powdercoat finish when used for frames and suspension components. Very good chemical immunity (brake fluid, etc) so it works well under the hood.
I will use a spray gun when required/allowed by the situation. We're doing my youngest sons '67 Dodge Dart GT in a silver metalic that I wouldn't dream of doing with a roller. I'm just offering up an opinion on what I feel is a viable alternative, based upon firsthand experience.
Cheers, Mark
this is where Hot Rod got their idea from & I have read most of the posts & you won't believe how good the paint jobs some of these folks got & they did w/a roller..I've seen trucks, ricers, camaro, mustangs, fullsize GM,Ford & Mopar cars painted this way. Including a Corvette & the guy even won trophies at some car shows w/it. When he told everyone what he painted it with they thought he was lieing....joe

I am happy with mine. The only thing is the time, after doing it this way ,I now have the confidence to purchase a few hundred bux worth of paint and do it with that next time, but only because of the time factor ,not that I am unhappy with the paint or finish.
