Hey guys, on muscle car tv they talk about weld through primer. I was wondering where to get it, which one to get, and whether or not it came in regular cans or just aerosol. Thanks dudes.

I get it at a Car Quest store local in a rattle can...and the tip clogs very easy, clean it out in lacquer thinner after you use it!!!!
they actually make a copper based weld through primer now. i want to say sem makes it, but i could be wrong. a paint supply store should have it. works amazing, welds better than the zinc stuff, adn the tip doesnt clog. There is no other way to go with weld through primer now!
Also welding supply's such as Airgas carry it......

Try the Eastwood company.
I found a place in town that has it, now I cna't find where I wrote down the name, damnit. I am sure I have it somewhere and it will show up eventually. damn it is expensive!!!!

Really all you are looking for is a Paint with a high Zinc content-I have used the regular SEM (and SEM makes good stuff) but all it would do is splatter when Welded-
What is weld through primer?
It's a primer that you spray on the job between 2 panels "before" welding....
helps stop rust and stuff.... ;)

I always wondered what was the best way to protect areas that will be sealed up by welding. Is this primer enough or do you have to top coat?
No top coat that I know of "I never have anyway" you just spray both panels clamp it up and weld it...
But I'm no expert so if there is more to it nobody has told me...
