What Omni primer did you use????
omni mp282 sv with mp 283 hardner,then dp40 lf
did you put that surfacer over bare metal?
yes omni went directly over bare metal
Not sure, but I believe 282 is a sealer/primer....????? My experience with DP is that it will bite most anything and get good adhesion... Did you scuff or wet sand the Omni before spraying the DP?????
yes i lightly sanded with 220 before spraying the dp40
Well, it's backwards.... But if nothing is lifting and you have good adhesion I think I'd give it a try the way it is....I've gotten away with a lot worse combinations!!!!!
You will have problems eventually. MP282 is a primer surfacer. meaning high build. It is NOT meant to go over bare steel and has zero corosion protection. You can keep going, but if you do not strip it back off it will rust from the inside out.
Follow the link to the PPG website and the tech sheet for that product.

Yeah, it won't last forever... Kind of depends what you're going to do with the car. If it's going to be out in the elements all the time, should do it over. A lot of the old primers had no corrosion protection either, but they did manage to seal up the surface and keep moisture off the metal... If the cars a "keeper" you should do it over....
it's probably rusting as we speak. if there is any way whatsover for water to get to the metal, there is going to be problems.
i haven't got a whole lot of experience painting, but one thing i have learned is if you don't use these product like they recommend, there will be trouble.
i used the omni products on my first job 4 years ago. i used a SS topcoat, and after about 2 years, the paint began to fade. it look like it's 20 years old now.
