All this photo shop flames, made me get a real marker and some paint.............
Of course this would all go behind the front wheel well........I just did not want to "TRY"it there.

Well ... not my style of flames but if you like'em go for it I'm always up for flames.

Don't know if you want to know but I'll tell you any way, when I'm drawing flames I just think of a two prong fork and whip the ends a round a little hope that makes since .
Or find some flames you like and copy them. If you got a pic you like ,make a grid on top and transfer that in a bigger scale then its easier to keep track of where your at and then you'll just have to match a few lines up.

Get some fine line pen striping tape (it'll make the tight bends) to figure out where your wanting them , just keep playing till your happy. Now if you want them to match on the other side, there's a few ways to do it , the one every one but me seems to like is a big sheet of half transparent paper (tracing paper) ,a porcupine wheel & a bag filled w/powdered chalk . You lay the paper over the lines you made w/the tape & make little holes following your tape w/your wheel, then line it up on the other side and tap the bag of chalk over the holes, that leaves something of an outline depending on how good a job you did with your wheel , THEN you follow the line with the tape and mask it off again. that'll give you almost exactly the same on the opposite side.

Now I do a lot of free hand drawing so that may be why I don't like all that I take a few measurements from the first side , line it all up ( where they end ,how deep, width) then I snap a pix ,scan ,flip, print ,& go back out and copy. seems easier to me. there's a few other ways but I haven't used them so maybe some one else will enlighten us.
I do like the little projector I seen in Northern tool's catalog, kind of like the thing they used to use in school , put a light behind an image and you can enlarge & shoot the shadow on a wall or car, then just trace. If your interested I'll see if I can find the catalog.

I was around last time flames went out of style, sure hope the go out of fashion again soon!!!! I think the trucks of that vintage look a lot better with a two tone paint job then anything else.....
