Wow - dealer actually used a paint meter!

Hi guys I have seen some threads in the archive on them (thanks Bob), but was blown away when my local dealer went over my trade-in with a paint meter. I Can't remember when a dealer ever even asked me if a car was ever hit as long as the carfax was clean.

How accurate are they in determining body work on a normal car? Wondering how useful it might be to own when when looking at "toy" cars. Not rods, but stadnard production cars. I imagine if GM/ford/DC repaints a panel because it doesn't meet q/c, then the paint meter would indicate body work to a potential buyer down the road obviously.

I bet they do not give that info when they sell,so thats with holding information or false salses.I would call em on it and stop em before they checked it and ask them ,now I know your gunna give everybody thats looks at this car your findings ,on each panel ?I bet he puts it back in his pocket:LOL: or tell em , now that I know you check em,wheres your documented findings on these cars I am lookin at ?:LOL: They opened the door by using it ,now they have to document there findings ,other wise its fraudulent misrepresentation!!!!
