The yellow streaks on the drawers came from "burping" the paint gun with a little too much pressure. I don't suppose anyone else has done that.

You must have gone crazy with the Yellow paint as even you ladder got it, I guess you are lucky the lawn mower did not get it!!

Question on cutting and buffing. How fast do you normally run a buffer with first cut compound on a wool pad? I use Meguiars 84 on a wool pad, followed by 83 on a stiff foam pad, followed by 82 on a light foam pad. I run the wool pad at 1500 RPM or so. The other two, I run a little faster, since the abrasive level is less. The Meguiars seems to work well, since it is a deteriorating compound. As you buff, the compound gets less abrasive.

It's 1996 Corvette Competition Yellow in Sherwin-Williams BC/CC. No problem with the neighbors. I have a corner lot, so there's some distance. I also filtered the exhast fans to keep the overspray down. I never painted when there were cars within a hundred yards of the house.

I've evicted another 4 toads in the last week or so. The neighbors are having similar problems. I'm now reading Revelations . . . I think it's a sign.

on the rubbing with wool pad i run them much slower than foam if i use a mid foam pad for mild cutting compound i will run this slow too but for the finish. i will run it faster with finish polish with light load on the buffer. i do not look at speed that much but how it works at the rpm and play with the speed. paint that is set up can take more heat . speed= heat with a foam pad there is more pad on the paint and will add more heat than wool so if it very fresh paint i will craw the pad foam and wool a lot of times i had to wheel very fresh paint i would cut the paint with 1200 and let it breath and ruff rub and let it set and then hit it with foam

Great looking paintjob. That new 'vette yellow doesn't look like it has as much red as the old 'vette yellow. I bet bugs swarm to it like they were in heaven.

I brought the rolling chassis home today, and as soon as I get the firewall polished, the body is going on the chassis. I don't really need to do it this soon, but I can get rid of the extra expense of storing the chassis in a AAAA Self-storage. Dippy Virginia Beach homebuilders don't know what a 2-car garage should look like.
