more about that suede look

Okay, I'll admit it, I'm having the local Maaco guy paint my car.
I have no $ (students) and I figured since I want the suede look-flat-primered look then they should be able to pull it off.
The first time it came out hazy and cloudy down the sides. They said they would redo it in 2 weeks.

1. Is it possible the haze is from the clearcoat and the flattening agent not working together.

2. And to get the seude look do I even need the clearcoat?

3. Just mix the flattening agent 1 to 1 with the ultra urethane?

This makes me nervous not knowing how all this works.
What a waste of money If this thing comes out ugly / I only get one more shot at it.
What do you guys think?

Last year StreetRodder did an issue "troubleshooting Paint Woes" that really puts painting in perspective. I thought it was a really good article (for me w/ no paint experience) that shed some light fer a beginner. It appears in other publications and I'm sure there are books that have more info but this article is the most recent that I can remember that was good. Just a simple suggestion.
