Our project '57VW bug had a single metal brake fluid reservoir when it left the Black Forest 49 years ago.
I've up graded the brakes and now have a dual master cylinder
so we got 2 new metal reservoirs.
I'm going to mount them next to each other in the original location.
I know that brake fluid will eat up most paints
what about POR15?
I'd like to paint the reservoirs before installing them
any thoughts

I've built 18 35-40 ford street rod chassis. Always painted them with POR 15 including the master cylinders. I used a power brake bleeder to bleed the brakes and always managed to get brake fluid all over everything. I just wiped up the brake fluid as soon as practical and never had a problem with the POR15. Make sure the part is properly prepped before painting. No grease or oil and no smooth shiny metal. The POR 15 likes a rough surface for proper adhesion like one that is freshly sand blasted.

Never have used Por 15, but it sounds for all the world like epoxy and there is probably nothing on the planet that will bother it.
I used por-15 under my dash and floor boards and had the master cylinder leak and now have to remove the por-15 and redo it bubbled up bad.

You must follow the por-15 steps and use exactly what they say ,when they say it or it will not stick and you get the peeling effect.If you follow the instructions exactly,its almost impossible to get off without por-15 stripper!!:LOL:
