Catalyzed Primer ?

Guys, need some education here. Explain to me what "Catalyzed Primer" is ??

I have some Dupont 1140 Primer Filler that has to be mixed with I think 1125 S activator. Is this worth using ?

Someone like HOTRODPAINT will be able to give you something more in-depth, but essentially catalyzed primer is two-part that doesn't rely on air drying, but on chemical reaction to cure.

A lot of advantages over conventional primer.

"Catalyzed" means it has had a hardener added to it just before spraying.

I don't know about that Dupont product, but using catalyzed primer is the only way to go. I have used just about every type "air-dry" lacquer and enamel primer. the advantages to this over any air dried product are well worth any extra cost.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, but many of the guys on here have experience with more products than me. That is because, if I find something that works consistantly, I will use it until I can't get it any more!!! I guess after all of these years, I have learned to hate surprises. :-)
