inner panel coating
Lets say you are going to tear apart a door or trunk, or whatver.. blast it or dip it clean, and put it back together. Or maybe even you are constructing an inner panel from scratch.
What is the best coating to apply... keeping in mind the pieces still have to be welded.
Now let's assume the welding damaged some of the coating. Now you can't get to it too good... but you want to seal out the rust.
suggestions please.
Thanks

Use weldable primer in any areas subject to welding or weld heat. Just epoxy primer on the areas you can get at when the welding is complete.

who makes the stuff? does it have to be mixed?

I don't know anything about a weldable primer, but we used to spray zinc chromate paint in the doors and under the old Mavericks and Fairmonts when I worked at Ford in the 70's

I get it from a Car Quest store, it comes in a rattle can. It's made by 3M, product #05917.
