    metal flake paint

I was wondering whats the best way to spray a large metal flake?
I have spayed some mini flake but no large. Can i just use a primer tip on my gun 1.3 i think? Should i buy a agitator cup? Or can i just put marbels or nots in the cup? Also is it better to put it in the first coat of clear or should i use an intercoat clear?

I like to use the DBC500 as a intercoat clear.. seems to work great.. as far as a agitator cup,, i never used one before, but you might have to. and yeah your going to have to use a big tip in the gun

I havent sprayed Metal Flake in years , but used a Stewart/Warner paint gun with an agitator cup .
Yes the gauge company made one hell of a paint gun ! :-)

1.8 or larger air nozzle and needle will be needed , and do not use a cup strainer as it will plug fast .

Not a whole lot you can use for agitation in a top loader gun , cant remember if there is a company that makes an agitator cup for a top loader .

I am wanting to buy a new gun , cant make up my mind if I want a Geo or a Mattson .

I love my LVLP iwatta 400 for clear !

My old Accuspray of 14 years has served me well , but want something new for laying base .

I loved my old mattson Atom-Miser IQ that has been rebuilt 4 times in 20 years , would like their new top loaders.

I've heard a lot of discussion about a dry flake gun called a "Flake Buster". You can find them at Old School Flake, but you'll have to google it.

well the flake im using isn't big enough to justify the "flake buster" (does look like it could be usefull).I'did spray a small test panel today and it came out good.I used a intercoat clear over black base and it looked like a boat from the "60's" witch is what it is four.

I used to spray quite a bit with the mattson's I really like the suction cup gun the best... I bought the top loader guns from them.. and I sold them.. wasn't the same gun to me... kept having problems with it.. and rarely ever had probs with the suction cup gun.. well if you want to call it suction as it's pressurized lol... should have said bottom feeder...lol..
plus the bottom feeder sprayed much better IMO..
