sata 2000 digital2

i know this gun has been brought up a few times, but I'm in school now and I have the oppritunity to buy a sata gun set (4 guns). The kit includes the digital base and clear guns. Are these digital guns worth the price, or would I be better off with just a "normal" gun the isn't digital. I can get the digital guns for $390 each. Hopefully you can help out a little bit! I'd appreciate any other pointers with buying a paint gun also. Thanks a lot!

My advice is :
Use what you can spray a nice job with .
If its comfortable to handle , good balance , and you like how it sprays , by all means buy the SATAs.

I like Geo,s , Accusprays, Matsons , and Iwattas myself.
Gun choice comes down to painters preference really.

something i tell all my helpers if you know how to set the spray gun correctly using the proper tip for the material you are spaying it dont matter if you use a cheap gun or the expensive guns. its all in the painters hand how a gun work learn the gun and it will look like glass good luck in school hopefully you learn the trade and kick out some killer jobs.

thanks, i totally understand what you are saying about it's the work you do, not the gun. one of my good friends always says that to. but the reason i'm wondering about these guns is because the price is just too hard to turn down. the retail price for each digital gun is $650, and i can get them through school for $390. By the way, if anyone is wondering if Wyotech is worth going to, hell yes it is. We are learning so much material, and I am just in the collision part of it. Some of my buddies are in the street rod classes, and i guess collision doesnt even compair to them. So Wyotech is everything it is talked up to be!

The Gun is well worth the price! but if you do go with one make sure you use a ¼ cap on the air intake when you put it in the gun washer, I may be a newbe compared to a lot of the guys here but in my option if you want to spray the best then use the best! No since taking any chances with junk. Plus if things don’t go right you cant blame the gun.

Myself, I only like to spray the best regardless of what people say it does make a difference to the unlearned!

About those sata's I definetly like the digital... I have a bunch of sata's and love them all... have a NR95 which i use mostly for single stage or solid bases... works great has a 1.4 tip,, which is why i like it with single stage it gives a great look...
also have the NR2000 which is my base coat gun.. has a 1.3 tip... really breaks down the metallics good, has a standard regulator on it, really wish it were digital... but a friend dropped it off and only wanted $75.00 for it.. couldn't pass that one up..lol..
also have the digital RP which is by far the best gun i've ever used to spray clear with... and really have grown to love the digital part of it... don't have the guage hanging of the bottom,, sounds stupid but after you use it for a while and grab one with a regulator, you notice the difference... the balance of the gun feels better to me that way also..
but if you want my opinion, if your gonna buy guns sata's a great choice,, especially the digital's,,, they'll last you a very very long time if you take care of them,,, I've sprayed with my NR 95 for about 5yrs now and still sprays like new,,, sure it will in another 5yrs... so if you buy a good set of guns now they should last you a very very long time.
