    Need PPG Code

    Hi everybody,

In a recent magazine, I saw either a 73 or 74 Trans Am 455SD that was painted a colour Lucerne Blue. I'm not sure if this was a factory colour or a custom job, but I can't seem to locate a PPG code for this colour.

Would anyone have the PPG code for it?

    Thanks

like finding a needle in a hay stack really, with out a WA # or a color code # be almost impossiable to give you the correct PPG code.

Most Paint Manufacturers dont go by color name, and they all call the colors different names even though they carry the same code/WA #

Not unless some one here reading this thread knows the code just by having it painted on their vehicle. I have painted for 30 years and paint several of the same GM colors every day and have no clue what the colors names are , my PPG touch mix goes only by WA#'s or Code #.

I dont even think if I called PPG color library they would even have the info.

    Sorry , SprayTech

If you can find someone with old paint charts from almost any company, most will include the WA number with each color chip. Then you can run that through PPG and see what their number is.

diehard my apologies , I went and got my old color chip book out of my tool box , and guess what ?
I found a Lucerne Blue Poly on a 1970 Pontiac. It was used on 70-72 pontiacs.
Color code is 26, and the PPG # is 2213.
You might call your PPG jobber and see if they can call the color library and see if it can be cross referenced into a Base Coat /Clear Coat if thats what product you would like .

Your mighty Welcome, I'm just glad I looked in my old chip book just to see if PPG had that name listed.
