Dust/Sand/Dirt Particles

Hello again,

No matter how much i try to wipe down a certain area with a grease/wax remover then using a tack cloth. I can still see little specks, I've even tried washing the car etc after sanding. I cannot never get rid of them. I also tried blowing it with the air gun. I'm using a home depot tack cloth off the painting section. Am I using the right tack cloth? I tried buying some tack cloth from pep boys with the same results.

What is the usual technique to clear dirt/sand/dust particles? I usually see sanding, blowing the panles with air, using a tack cloth. I've tried these steps and having no luck. The reason how I see the dirt/sand/dust particle is right after I'm finished wiping it down with a tack cloth. I spray the grease/wax remover cleaner and you can see the gloss with like 5 little specs on it.

It's the dust in the air that gets back on it. Are you doing this in a paint booth???

A tad bit of info here , you will never get a paint job that doesnt get any dirt in it , I paint in a 75K down draft every day , and what most people dont understand is most dirt comes from you, air hose , paint gun, you drop the hose on the floor to reload your paint gun ? then pick it off the floor and keep shooting ? the first 5 feet of my hose never hits the floor as I hand it around my gun hanre when I have to reload.

There will always be small particles in the air no matter what , it will even get through our high dollar filters . Another thing is , if yor painting in your garage and your air compressor is in the same room as you when it kicks on and the belt turns , theres air movement and vibrations will rattle dust from everywhere.

Try using a 3M tac cloth , its a white scuff pad with bees wax on it , and I have had excellent luck with them .

Like Denny said,,,hang a chain from the body of the car so the static charge will go to ground,,,and you may want to wet the floor down before applying paint.
Air from a compressor will have a slight charge to it,,,,these electrons will gather on the car body and attract dust.

Thanks for the advice, do you just hang a chain from the frame to the floor?
