Question about "primer" paint jobs
I am one of those pnes that loves the look of the "hot rod" black primer look.
My question is I have heards that these primer "paint" jobs do not last as long as as a regular paint job.
Begins to fade, etc.
Is there any truth to this?
I would be using PPG DP 90.
Thanks, Patrick

Cover your DP90 with PPG "Hot Rod Black".
Primer will not hold up to the sun's UV rays like a top coat.
I have John Deere Blitz Black on my roadster. But I would have used Hot Rod Black if had been available when my ride was ready for paint. An Old California Rodder

If you must use a primer mix it with lacquer for a better look and some protection from rust.. Use a mix of 70% primer and 30% lacquer. Should last 8-10 months then re shoot it.
