Great information.
I had to check and see if this was still on the books. Illinois got me on this one 35 years ago
"....Suspension may not be
modified to cause front
bumper height to vary
more than 3" from rear
bumper height....."
.
Last time I checked in Iowa it said Suspension may not be modified to cause front bumper height to vary more than 4", but in the same sentence says that the restrictions are only to commercial vehicles. That was 8yrs ago. I had 53's on my 76 chevy with 21-22" of lift. I drove it twice and got nailed twice. It went back down to reality levels after that..............
I found this searching to see if Iowa had a head light law. I've had friends get nailed for this. According to SEMA and this link, Iowa doesn't. There is some interesting stuff in here.
Iowa Lift Laws | Vehicle Modification Rules
Reminds me of back in the 70's when the law was handing out tickets for rear bumpers being too high......
I had an under dash schrader valve in my '70 Nova's air shock lines just for such occasions.
"I pulled you over for bumper height but it measures out ok"....

I could beat most of them that use headlight or taillight height. You can mount those anywhere on the vehicle, but the laws that limit frame height are the ones you cannot beat.
.
Ya I was gonna say, do a drop or kick down for the bumpers and put all your lights in the bumper's as well.
I've seen guy's do the double frame deal to get around the frame law years ago.
