Its got a 467ci 530hp ponch mill, 2X4's , and a whole buncha other goodies. backed up by a richmond 6 speed and 12 bolt posi. my brother (22) owns a chevelle, vette. AT home we have a fleet of gto's, camaros, chevelle, etc. NO ITS not dead! i cant tell you how much i love muscle cars and HATE imports ! so please dont give up on the younger generation yet!! keep trying. I would love to talk muscle cars with any/everyone who wants to chat and get the real deal of Teenagers nowadays! check out my website its got the goat and some others on there.

I figured i'd post my response here as well since it's a carry over from the ricer thread.
This may sound like a far out or a bit of a stretch as to how to get younger kids back into old time hot rodding and muscle cars, but it would actually be as simple as some movie studio putting out a couple of films about hot rodding. It could either be based in the hayday's of the hobby or modern times using old hotrods as center pieces. It worked great for boosting the ricer and NOS popularity.
That being said, I've been tossing around the idea of writting my own screen play about cruising and hot rodding. It would be a real story with believable characters and most importantly, a not-over-the-top, rediculous stunt filled story.
I mean if you watched "American Graffitti" with some kids nowadays, I bet they would be turned on to the scene of cold rolled steel, non fuel injected, gas guzzling, tire smoking, horsepower churning beast of the day! And that's not even describing the uniquely original cool designs of each and every car produced back then.
How's that for an idea? I told you it was a little out there to begin with.
Shoulda' posted this here...
Hey Scooter's Dad...This is something I posted this a.m. on the Post a Pic thread...ha ha...it's more suited to this one...
Kids n Rods
Ya know guys I don't have to tell you this....hehe... but i'm going to anyway...lol...it's the mommy in me!
It is sooooo cool that you guys work with your kids on ANYTHING! There are so many uninvolved daddy's out there that leave the life training for their kids up to the momma's...I really think that you guys spending time with your kids (don't forget yer girls if ya got em!) no matter what your hobby/job/interests are is THE most important thing you will ever do. They look to you during those times to see how you handle yourself, how you deal with other people, how you respond when things go your way or especially when they don't go your way. They learn to think & problem solve, strategize, interact with adults when they spend that time with you. They also watch how you treat their momma...hehe and that's how they will treat important women in their life...hint hint... You guys are the greatest influence the next generation has. An that goes for you Geezer Rodders too...if there are young ones in your circle of influence that DON'T have that example at home...they depend on you to be that example.
My husband is into bicycling (my kids don't like it)...so that's what he and I do together. He doesn't know anything about cars so in order to spend time with our boys he took up golf and does that with them. I don't care what it is...if your out there spending time with those kids it will pay off bigtime! You guys ROCK!!!!!
