Welcome to CHR, 52. Neat looking chebbie. I'm sure someone out there still makes a swap kit for this, try a google search for engine swap kits. Also, might want to check with a company called Trans Dapt.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

Ok. Since you didn't bite. I'll come right out and ask. The only way I can tell the difference between a 51 and a 52 chevy is by the grille. Is that a 52 with a 51 grille? 52 Chevys have 5 teeth on the center bar. I don't see the holes where they were so if the ID tag says it's a 52 then someone changed the center bar or the whole grille or the whole nose." Im gone'

Everything you need is available but the shipping will kill you.
Chassis Engineering makes motor and transmission mounts and they should ship for a reasonable amount. They also offer a bolt in Mustang II front crossmember and better springs for the rear.
I know there are not many places where you can get up to speed for any distance but the 700R4 is still a better choice. If your replacement rear end has low gears shifting into fourth will really save on gas and wear and tear on the engine (you will need to convert to an open drive line and your original rear end will not work.
There is nothing wrong with the old suspension but you will have a hard time getting the front end down. I have driven over some of your roads and I don't think you really want to cut any spring coils.
The small block Chevy swap is easy to do and will really pep up the old girl.
Good luck!!An Old California Rodder

Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
