Old New Guy
Hi,
I'm new to Club Hot Rod but not new to the sport. I'm 51 years old. I bought my first set of Craftsman mechanic's tools and began my first restoration at 14 ( a '40 Desoto Coupe ). I still have most of the tools but, unfotunately no longer have the Coupe.
Over the years I've raced in SCCA and NHRA. I've build a 10 second drag car, numerous customs and hot rods with a little help from my friends.
Currently my wife and I are attending cruises and show & shines around southern Oregon and northern California in our '38 Plymouth. It's basically stock... just paint, chrome smoothies and lowered a bit, so far. This will be a long term cruiser project. I'll convert to 12v and add an Airtique A/C and Heat system, which I already have on hand, after the summer cruise season.
I hope to start a new street rod project this fall but I haven't found my new love yet. I think a true gearhead needs 1 to drive and 1 to work on at all times.
Happy Trails,
Cuff
