Welcome to CHR wingnut. The only Ford I own is the motorhome I use to tow my Chevy to the drags. Why did they make those 460's fit so tight in these E350's. And another thing, how the heck do I adjust the carburetor when I can't even see it! ANyway, have fun in here. Got any pics?

Hey, that's not fair, I axed my question first.

what trans is in that van, if it has a torque converter clutch it may
not be disengaging which will could cause a similar concern, if it does have a torque converter clutch i would get a wiring diagram and find out how power is routed to engage clutch and disconnect it and see if that helps, as for the e-350 with a 460, everything is crammed and tight under the hood of vans, i hate working on them, i believe there is a special tool for adjusting the carb that is pretty long and you will probably have to access it from through the dog house, sorry if these answers don't help much i dont do much drivability work, mostly front end

Welcome aboard wingnut. Where were you last year when I needed help with my Pops Grand marquis?:p Seriously though, nice to have you. I got a bit of Ford experiance when I was younger. Thats why I drive an Oldsmobile Now. Oh, and streets, why not just convert the Torque convertor to Toggle switch drive? I dont think the OD works without the convertor locking. :(
