Another noob

Hi,
My name is Gary and I've been a car nut all my life. When I was little I could impress all my freinds and family by identifying cars driving down the road. It's a bit harder now. :( I have had various cars: a '69 Grand Prix, a '66 Lemans, '62 Falcon, 64 Impala and most recently a '72 Cutlass. I sold the Cutlass so I could build my current car a '48 Chevrolet Fleetline Aero Sedan. This is my first street rod and my first ground-up restoration. I'm sure I'll have lots of fun and a million questions. I'm glad to have found this forum. :) My car is currentlly in pieces. I have diassembled it down to the frame rails. I have ordered a hub to hub IFS unit from RB Obsolete. It should be here this week, yay! I plan to get a posies super slide springs setup for the rear suspension to go with my '72 Nova rear. I have a TH400 trans, and plan to install a belly button 350 chev. I would love to here from anyone who has a 46-48 chev to swap stories, etc.

Welcome aboard Gary.

Go to the "members" link at the top of this page and look up brickman. He's our current 46-8 Chev stud!! In the upper right of his profile you'll see a small link to all the posts he's participated in. In there will be several on various modifications he's brought up.

I used to own a 72 cutlass. Great car, got a 455 swapped in mine from a 70. That car would always turn heads. Trick for identifying- classify American and ricer for a few weeks. That makes it a lot easier. BTW, if you find you need to sell another late60s/early70s Oldsmobile again, drop me a line! Im gonna need another one eventually:3dSMILE: :3dSMILE: :3dSMILE:
