Hi all
New to the site. I found this forum looking for information on building my Chevy BB.
I am restoring a 74 LS-4 Corvette. Being the last year before emissions, that poor motor was only pushing 270 hp.
My goal is to build it up while making the exterior look original.
I will be asking many questions as I am new to this part of my build.
Thanks and looking forward to learning a lot and hopefully one day being able to give back.

Todd, welcome to CHR! About 9yrs ago I put a 71 454 truck crate engine with a mild cam in a 74 convertible that was a 350 car. It sure woke it up.

Welcome, Todd. Glad to have you here. Not to be negative, but 1972 was the last year before the emissions attack on Detroit. Starting in 1973 they invoked the CAFE rules, and the OEM engineers were scrambling to meet the new requirements, using just about any trick they could come up with. This is when we got the EGR systems for the first time, modulating the addition of exhaust gasses to the combustion chamber to slow the burn and reduce NOX emissions. 1973 and 1974 were two of the worst years for emission controls.
