Yea, I'm the noob.

I'm Jimmie, I've been around cars for all my life, but still need to learn a LOT. So I'm hoping that I can get a little help and offer what I can on here.

My car is a 1990 Mazda Rx7 Convertable. I know its not quite your average hot rod, but its getting there. I just removed EVERYTHING that has to do with anything rotary, just to make room for a nice chevy motor. I'm going with a small block, built somewhere in the 450 to 500hp range. And don't be suprised if I ask a few stupid questions, like I said, I have a lot to learn, so thanks ahead of time for any help I might recieve.

Ask away, there are a LOT of years of experience here.

There is a kit made for the SBC RX7 swap, don't know who makes it or how much it is but, it would help your task expertise meter go down. Oh, Welcome to CHR Jimmie, for an engine I suggest a 330 HO deluxe 350, then blow the motor with an underhood blower, then get a cowl induction scoop to provide clearence, the fastest way to make the power, I'm unshure of the the Compression ratio on this motor so, you may have to lower the compression to blow it.

there are actually 2 places that make kits, hinson supercars and granny's speed shop. either way, I'm gonna have to do a little changing to either since mine is a vert:D I believe I know what engine I'm getting, and that is a 350 out of a 1970 model truck, 2 bolt mains. I'm replacing crank, rods, pistons and everything else that can give me a little edge over the next guy. i'm still on the hunt for a 700 4r automatic tranny so i'll have overdrive, and will be able to drive on the street with my 4.11:1 rear end
