Newbie
Hello all! I'm Jay. New to the site! I will be looking for ideas and technical assistance in the future. I have a burning urge to build a Rat Rod. Currently I have a 49' Chevrolet Fleetline Deluxe, a 64' Chevelle SS, a 2000 LS-1 Corvette and a 72' short bed Chevy truck (a work in progress). I hope to meet some of you.

Welcome Jay! Sounds like you've already got a nice group of vehicles there. What's your idea of a "Rat Rod", and what's your plan?Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Well, My thoughts on the Rat Rod have been somewhat varied until this past week. A friend of mine is restoring a 52 f-100. He has a total of three trucks to build one. He told me that he has a 51 cab, chassis and bed, and several doors, that is soon to be parting with at almost no cost. I have in mind to build a box tube frame. I have never done one from scratch, but I have modified a few and boxed in some partials. That is part of the reason for joining this site. I will be picking some of your brains for ideas and info, when the time comes to fab the frame. I have a couple of engine combinations, already. one is a 350, moderately modified and the other is a 454. The 454 is supposed to go into my 72 short bed pu. I also have a muncie 4 speed and a couple of 350 turbos. Decisions will be made sometime down the road.
I will post some pictures of my other toys soon. I am at work right now and don't have access to my photos.
Thanks for the welcomes! I look forward to chatting with you guys as my projects begin.

Welcome Jay, there is enough brain power here to launch a battle ship so you're in the right place…You don't know what it is to love a car until you build one.

So we're still out here fighting with sniper issues, might be sending it back to summit soon. But at least it looks good?
